Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology RN with active OR license and IR/procedural experience for a fast-paced hospital IR department.

Details

  • Interventional Radiology department within a hospital setting
  • Multidisciplinary team including RNs, IR Technologists, and Interventionalists
  • Department operates Monday through Friday for routine and emergent cases with on-call coverage available 7 days a week after hours
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 0700-1730
  • Call required, including weekends and after-hours, with ability to report within 30 minutes of being called
  • Requires ability to move throughout entire shift and ride the Aerial tram
  • Assignment changes may occur frequently throughout shift
  • Candidates may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals based on unit needs

Requirements

  • Active OR RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA Traditional; RQI not accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of Critical Care, PACU, ED, or Procedural experience required
  • IR, Cath, or GI procedural experience required; IR experience with body and neuro procedures preferred
  • Trauma Level I hospital experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • 8 hours of annual stroke education required
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and independent patient care coordination skills required
  • Experience with radiation safety and fluoroscopy preferred
  • Experience with GIB, stroke, and trauma-related IR procedures preferred
  • Charge RN experience in a related setting preferred

  • Provide direct patient care and support for interventional radiology procedures in collaboration with physicians and technologists
  • Efficiently manage time to move patients through the department smoothly
  • Serve as a role model supporting the hospital's vision and mission
  • Handle competing demands and emergencies calmly and professionally
  • Engage with diverse patient populations and collaborate across disciplines
  • Accepts local candidates at the same pay rate
  • Former employees or travelers must have been separated for at least 6 months to be eligible to return
  • RTO must be submitted upfront and should not exceed 2 weeks
  • First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
  • Floating to affiliate hospitals nearby may be required based on department needs
