Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Interventional Radiology position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications with prior ICU or IR experience.

Details

  • Level II Trauma Center with Level III NICU and Primary Stroke Center designation
  • Interventional Radiology unit with 7 pre/post bays and 2 procedural suites
  • Outpatient and inpatient cases including biopsies, UFEs, kyphoplasties, port placements, diagnostic angiograms, arterial and venous interventional procedures, IVC placement, venous and neurological thrombectomies, coilings, aneurysm repairs, paracentesis, and thoracentesis
  • Patient ratios of 1:1 in procedure rooms and up to 1:3 in pre/post areas
  • Uses Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors
  • Unit operates M-F 0630-1630 for routine procedures with 24/7 availability for emergencies
  • On-call typically required every 4th weekend and one night during the week
  • Shift options include four 10-hour shifts (0630-1630) or three 12-hour shifts with rotating off days
  • Floating limited to other procedural areas such as cath lab pre/post when skillset applies

Requirements

  • Active AL or compact RN license
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience, or 2 years of experience for first-time travelers
  • Skills required include ICU care, moderate sedation, arterial line management, medication titration, and chest tube management

Additional Information

  • Supported on the unit by a charge nurse
  • Orientation includes 2 shifts on the unit and 1-2 shifts in education/onboarding
  • Holiday coverage required equally between core and travel staff, including 1 winter holiday and 1 summer holiday
  • Time off requests approved by the unit manager
  • Scrubs of any color accepted, with green scrubs provided for procedures
  • Parking available in assigned hospital deck areas
  • First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of experience
  • Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • Former staff must wait 6 months before returning as a traveler
