Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Interventional Radiology. The Registered Nurse provides critical care for medical and surgical patients undergoing invasive procedures using fluoroscopy and general X-ray. Responsibilities include procedural assistance, pre- and post-procedural care, hemodynamic monitoring, patient education, and collaboration with the healthcare team.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse; graduate of an accredited nursing program; current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; 35 years of recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Nurse or Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Nurse; experience with moderate sedation administration, pre- and post-procedural care, groin care and management, hemodynamic monitoring, hemodialysis patient populations and fistula care, and diagnostic and interventional peripheral vascular cases.
- Schedule: Rotating schedule with 9-hour shift hours and a minimum of 36 hours per week; schedule notes indicate Monday through Friday, four 10-hour shifts with a flex day based on departmental needs, with no on-call or weekend requirements.
- Responsibilities: Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care for critically ill medical and surgical patients. Assist with invasive procedures in Interventional Radiology, Endovascular Surgery, and Neurosurgical Interventional services while applying aseptic techniques. Maintain required competencies, support evidence-based care, provide pre- and post-procedural education, and collaborate with the healthcare team in a professional critical care setting.
- Additional Information: Strong communication and computer skills are required. The position supports patient and family care across Interventional Radiology procedures, including moderate sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, groin care, fistula management, and peripheral vascular interventions.
