Key Responsibilities of the CT Technologist

• Perform technical procedures and assist in clinical evaluation and care of patients
• Create diagnostic images using CT scan technology
• Enforce radiation safety measures as per New York State Department of Health code
• Support ongoing learning and teaching as technology evolves
• Conduct CT exams on trauma, emergency room, outpatient, and inpatient cases

Requirements of the CT Technologist

• Graduate of an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School
• New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or a limited permit
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider, CPR, or CPR/AED certification
• Entry-level or MIT level based on skill set and experience
