The technologist prepares the patient and area for procedures by positioning the patient and adjusting immobilization devices. This includes using proper sterile techniques when performing invasive procedures and maintaining hand hygiene requirements. The technologist maintains equipment and work areas to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Collaboration with engineers and physicists is essential to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. They report any equipment issues to management or the appropriate department. Maintaining supplies inventory is also part of the role. The technologist ensures individuals are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures.
