Produce quality images through the appropriate operation of equipment and instrumentation. Follow proper patient identification protocols. Thoroughly and accurately complete all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage. Maintain work area and stock needed supplies. Transport patients as needed. Develop specific knowledge regarding invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies, appropriate indications, and application techniques. At the end of the procedure, may apply closure device, suture the sheath in place, or remove the sheath and apply pressure to obtain hemostasis. Understand and apply principles of x-ray generation and safety. Demonstrate correct operation of imaging equipment. Provide patient education as needed and ensure patient comfort. Assist in procedures as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech according to lab policies and procedures. Expected to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, and operate monitors during interactions with patients and care providers. Demonstrate manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision. Lift and utilize the full range of movement to transfer patients and carry supplies and equipment. Navigate crowded and busy rooms safely. Stand in a stationary position for extended periods if required. A personal radiation monitoring badge is required for this assignment.
