Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for an Inpatient Rehabilitation unit requiring WI or compact licensure and prior skilled nursing or 24/7 care experience.

Details

• Work in a 49-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital unit
• Patient population includes adults requiring inpatient rehabilitation with high acuity needs, including stroke, brain and spinal-cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic conditions
• Patient ratio of 1:7
• 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• On-call requirements apply
• Uses mobility equipment including ceiling lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Plus, and slide boards
• Uses vital sign machines, EKG machines, and blood glucose monitors
• Charts using Epic EHR
• Floating not currently required but may be needed to a satellite IRF facility within 20 minutes in the future

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in skilled nursing or other 24/7 skilled care environment required
• Med-Surg or inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred
• 2+ years of overall nursing experience preferred

Additional Information

• Assist CNAs and respond to call lights as needed to ensure patient safety
• Unit functions similarly to a medical-surgical unit at times due to high patient acuity
• Facility is accredited by The Joint Commission and CARF for Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation and Stroke Specialty programs
• 30-minute unpaid break required each shift along with two paid 15-minute breaks during a 12-hour shift
• Staff must clock out on time unless approved by the house supervisor to stay later
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Local candidates will not be accepted
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time
