Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Infusion Services

Location: Alaska
Contract: Travel Assignment

Requirements

  • Current Active Alaska RN License (Required)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Infusion/Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy nursing experience
  • BLS & ACLS (AHA)
  • Flu vaccination required

Important: Start date will be at least 6 weeks after SEARHC receives fingerprint cards. Travelers must complete fingerprinting and mail fingerprint cards within 2–3 days of offer acceptance to avoid delays.

Job Summary

The Infusion RN provides safe, high-quality care to patients receiving infusion therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, specialty medications, IV fluids, and biologic treatments. The RN collaborates with physicians, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary care team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Administer infusion therapies and specialty medications.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Manage and maintain PICC lines, central lines, and other vascular access devices.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and prior authorizations.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-infusion care.
  • Accurately document care using the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies and infection control standards.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and specialty infusions.
  • Strong IV therapy and central line management skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, and patient care abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced infusion clinic.
