Job Summary
Infusion Nurse, located in an outpatient oncology infusion setting, oversees patient care involving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other treatments. Responsible for providing holistic, individualized nursing care, patient education, and ensuring effective communication with healthcare team members to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Certifications & Licensure: RN-Registered Nurse for the state where care is provided, BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider, ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card.
- Education & Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, at least 2 years of recent oncology experience, prior outpatient oncology infusion center experience preferred.
- Skills & Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of nursing theories, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and healthcare industry standards. Effective written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Schedule: Day shift, 10 hours per shift, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Responsibilities: Administering chemotherapy, managing ports, operating infusion equipment, patient education, and supporting a multidisciplinary team.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC).
- Additional Information: Handling of hazardous drugs per NIOSH/USP 800 guidelines; participating in orientation and compliance documentation as required.
