Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Stepdown/IMU position requiring telemetry strip reading and drip titration experience.

Details

• Acute care Stepdown/IMU unit with 18 beds
• 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Common diagnoses include post-MI with sheath pull, ADHS, postop vascular, GI bleed, and DKA
• RNs required to titrate drips including Nitroglycerine, Neo, and Cardene
• Telemetry monitoring on all patients with RNs reading strips
• One PCT per shift for support
• RT equipment includes BiPap and CPAP
• Uses EPIC EMR
• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required
• Floating required on a PRN basis
• No call or standby requirements

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Stepdown/telemetry patient care experience required
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required

Additional Information

• Read and interpret telemetry strips for assigned patients
• Titrate set-rate and titratable drips as part of daily patient care
• Charge nurse and house supervisor roles are available, with charge typically not carrying a patient assignment under normal circumstances
• Unit-specific orientation provided
• Royal blue scrubs required, with white, royal blue, or black undershirts permitted
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating schedule, approximately every other holiday
• EKG competency testing required for consideration
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for travel positions
• Previous WVU Medicine travelers must have a 2-year break before reapplying and are limited to a cumulative 1-year assignment length within the system
