Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in Reno, Nevada. The role involves delivering high-quality patient care to individuals experiencing severe, yet usually non-life threatening, medical conditions. This position requires providing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, within a fast-paced, trauma-level environment.

Job Details:

  • Location: 1155 Mill St, Reno, NV 89502
  • Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts per week, with a minimum of 36 hours, including weekends and holidays. Travelers must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays and may need to float based on organizational needs.
  • Required Qualifications: NV Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications, at least 2 years of IMCU/Stepdown experience, with medical/neuro ICU experience preferred. Candidates must have experience with vasopressors, titratable drips, arterial lines, neuro-stepdown patients, procedural sedation, thrombolytics, and trach management. Candidates are required to pass an ECG/Telemetry exam, which includes rhythm strip interpretation; failure to do so will result in contract termination.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neuro and cardiovascular patient management.
  • Additional Information: The IMCU is composed of 18 beds focusing on patients requiring moderately complex assessments and therapies, including stroke, sepsis, cardiac, and respiratory issues. The environment is extremely busy, functioning as a Level II Trauma Center with extensive specialized services. Travelers may be required to float within their competency levels and work during major holidays. The assignment starts on 08/24/2026, and the role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to a diverse adult and geriatric population.
