Job Summary
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Nurse in Madison, WI Provides highly skilled patient care within a fast-paced, Level One Trauma Center environment. This position involves caring for acutely ill surgical and trauma adult patients, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Job Details
- Shift Time: Nights, 12-hour shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am, Monday through Friday with every other weekend or to meet scheduling needs, including some holidays. Option for 4x12s, Thursday-Sunday if preferred.
- Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, at least 2 years of experience in PCU, Stepdown, or IMC, and proficiency with EPIC electronic health records.
- Schedule: Nights, 36 hours per week.
- Additional Requirements: Must pass telemetry certification exam prior to start; Intensive care experience is preferred.
- Responsibilities: Assist acutely ill adult patients, manage telemetry monitoring, perform procedures such as arterial line management, ventilator care, chest tubes, IV management, and respond to rapid changes in patient condition.
- Certification Requirements: ACLS, BLS.
- Submission requirements include pass/fail telemetry testing with strict criteria, including adult and pediatric cardiac rhythm identification, with two attempts allowed.
