Job Summary:
Intermediate Care Unit Registered Nurse (IMCU RN) in a high-acuity 16-bed IMC/ICU stepdown located in the specialty of IMCU. The role involves providing advanced patient care in a dynamic environment, assisting with various critical procedures, and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams. The position offers a challenging opportunity for experienced RNs to contribute to patient recovery and management.

Job Details:

  • Position Description: Specialty: IMCU RN. Start date: 10/26/26. Shift: 3x12 Nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend requirement: 3-4 weekends per 4-week block. Holidays: Scheduled as needed. Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Qualifications: Valid MD or Compact RN License. Certifications: BLS and CPI required; ACLS preferred. Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in IMCU/ICU or similar high-acuity units, with 2-3 years experience in managing complex patient conditions.
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Assist in central line insertion, chest tube insertion, para/thoracentesis. Perform bedside hemodialysis, plasmapheresis, cardioversion, adenosine administration, chemo management, IVIG treatments, trach exchanges, and bronchoscopies with secure airway management.
  • Manage high-acuity patients including those requiring ICU step-up or step-down care, with a focus on post-transplant, trauma, surgical, COVID-19, CVA, and complex medical patients.
  • Collaborate with respiratory therapy and pharmacy teams to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Provide patient care utilizing ultrasound-guided IV placement and manage arterial lines, ports, and various ventilator and airway devices.
  • Maintain adherence to hospital policies, scope of practice, and safety standards, including PPE and isolation precautions.
  • Submission of compliance documentation within 5 days prior to start date required.
