  • Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
  • Shift Schedule: Night shift, Monday through Friday with every other weekend required
  • Orientation: 36 hours
  • Patient Ratio: 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
  • Additional Details: Travelers must pass a telemetry exam prior to start and may be required to float as needed

Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin or a compact RN license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA
  • At least 3 years of acute care experience in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, progressive care, or PCU nursing
  • Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and PCU/DOU/IMC patient care
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • Ability to successfully complete telemetry testing prior to start
  • Strong clinical skills in cardiac drips, arterial lines, central line care, and post-procedure cardiac care

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care for adult cardiac patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, dysrhythmias, and post-cardiac procedures
  • Monitor telemetry, interpret rhythms, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
  • Care for patients recovering from angioplasty, stent placement, pacemaker procedures, and cardiac catheterization interventions
  • Administer and manage therapeutic medications, including vasoactive drips and insulin protocols as ordered
  • Assess and maintain arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, TR bands, and other advanced monitoring devices
  • Collaborate with physicians, rapid response teams, respiratory therapy, IV teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
  • Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, recovery expectations, and self-care strategies
  • Float as needed to support unit coverage and deliver dependable team-based care
