- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Shift Schedule: Night shift, Monday through Friday with every other weekend required
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Patient Ratio: 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
- Additional Details: Travelers must pass a telemetry exam prior to start and may be required to float as needed
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin or a compact RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA
- At least 3 years of acute care experience in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, progressive care, or PCU nursing
- Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and PCU/DOU/IMC patient care
- Epic charting experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Ability to successfully complete telemetry testing prior to start
- Strong clinical skills in cardiac drips, arterial lines, central line care, and post-procedure cardiac care
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for adult cardiac patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, dysrhythmias, and post-cardiac procedures
- Monitor telemetry, interpret rhythms, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Care for patients recovering from angioplasty, stent placement, pacemaker procedures, and cardiac catheterization interventions
- Administer and manage therapeutic medications, including vasoactive drips and insulin protocols as ordered
- Assess and maintain arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, TR bands, and other advanced monitoring devices
- Collaborate with physicians, rapid response teams, respiratory therapy, IV teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, recovery expectations, and self-care strategies
- Float as needed to support unit coverage and deliver dependable team-based care
