Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMC/Stepdown night shift position requiring 2 years of PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience and at least one completed travel assignment.

Details

• IMC (Intermediate Care) unit setting
• 3x12 Night shift schedule, 18:45-07:15
• IMC patient ratio of 1:4
• Floating required to Telemetry and/or Medical-Surgical units as needed (1:5/1:6 ratios on those units)
• Every other weekend coverage required, with scheduling directed by unit operational needs

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2 years of recent PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience required within the last 7 years
• Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
• Experience managing BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, central and peripheral lines, and cardiac drips (no titration)
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and on-unit telemetry monitoring
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and pre/post hemodialysis management preferred

Additional Information

• Provide intermediate/stepdown level nursing care to patients requiring cardiac and respiratory monitoring
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; RTO must be submitted upfront and is limited to 7 days per 13-week contract
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a travamyeler
• Manager interviews are not guaranteed; candidates must be comfortable proceeding without one
