Neuro Stepdown RN - Night Shift (3x12-Hour)
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Night shift: 18:45 - 07:15. Travelers are required to work a minimum of 3 weekend shifts every six weeks.
Job Description
The Neuro Stepdown RN will provide exceptional nursing care within a specialized unit for neurological and medical intermediate patients. This position requires a strong teamwork approach and commitment to behavioral expectations during all interactions with patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage patients with neurological conditions.
- Administer medications and titrate IV drips, including Levophed.
- Perform cardiac monitoring and respond to dysrhythmias.
- Care for patients with feeding tubes and perform related management tasks.
- Handle hemodialysis pre/post management and continuous bladder irrigation.
- Apply isolation precautions and adhere to hospital protocols.
- Utilize Epic for charting patient data and outcomes.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with neuro stepdown or related critical care experience.
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- Must be able to titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips.
- Epic experience is required.
- Experience with central line care, blood product administration, and ventilator management.
