Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) unit position requiring TX or compact RN licensure and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Intermediate Care/Stepdown (PCU/DOU/IMC) unit setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses Epic for charting
• Float required
• Weekend shifts required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, blood product administration, and phlebotomy
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry required
• Experience with insulin drip titration and wound care/wound vac management preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to IMC/Stepdown patients including neurological, cardiac, renal, and post-surgical cases
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be contracted
• Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• All requested RTO must be disclosed prior to consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
