Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Stepdown/Med Surg for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and critical care drip titration skills.

Details

  • 16-bed Stepdown/Med Surg unit with a mix of stepdown and med surg patients
  • Patient ratio of approximately 5:1 (not guaranteed)
  • Night shift, 3x12 schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • No call requirements
  • Floating to Med Surg as needed
  • Uses Philips bedside monitors
  • EMR system is EPIC

Requirements

  • Active RN license, AR or compact, required at time of consideration
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • No certifications expiring within first 30 days of assignment unless renewal is documented
  • 2+ years of recent experience in Stepdown/Med Surg required
  • Experience with post cardiovascular surgery and post stroke patient care required
  • Experience titrating cardiac drips (Nitro, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Esmolol) required
  • Experience with BiPAPs and Airvo devices required
  • Ability to recognize a deteriorating patient required
  • Valid U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs not accepted
  • No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Care for a patient population including post-op, cardiovascular, neuro, full stroke, and respiratory cases
  • Team-oriented, friendly personality valued on this unit
  • Black scrubs required; hoodies not permitted
  • Up to 5 days of RTO allowed but must be made up during the assignment
  • Local candidates accepted at a reduced bill rate
