Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in a mixed ICU/Step-Down unit requiring critical care experience and IN or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • 20-bed mixed ICU/Step Down unit
  • ICU patients cared for at a 2:1 ratio and Step Down patients at 3:1
  • Floating required to sister unit for Step Down (3:1) or progressive care (4:1) patients
  • Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30
  • Weekend and holiday rotation commitment required
  • Patient population includes severe respiratory failure, sepsis/septic shock, hemodynamic instability, neurologic conditions, metabolic/endocrine disorders, cardiac conditions, and GI/hepatic failure
  • Care involves continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, arterial lines, mechanical or noninvasive ventilation, titrated IV medications, and enteral/parenteral nutrition

Requirements

  • Active IN or compact RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certification through the AHA
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required
  • Current license and primary source verification (Nursys) within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to a medically complex ICU/Step Down patient population
  • Manage titrated medications and complex medication regimens with frequent lab monitoring
  • Radius rule applies which may affect local candidate pay rate
  • Only one submission allowed per candidate across all Ascension positions system-wide
  • Candidates should discuss assignment extension with their manager at least 45 days prior to end date
