Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a stepdown unit position requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

• Stepdown unit within a 24-bed ICU
• Patient ratio of 1:3, with up to 3 patients per nurse
• Common patient population includes respiratory disease processes, neurological disorders, chronic illnesses, and COVID
• Administers drips including insulin, cardizem, heparin, Lasix, precedex, and low-dose pressors
• Uses Epic EMR
• D/N rotation shift schedule
• Weekend requirement of 5 shifts every 6 weeks
• Holiday coverage required every other holiday
• First to float
• 3-day floor orientation provided

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• ACLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a stepdown ICU setting for patients with complex respiratory, neurological, and chronic conditions
• Scrub requirements: navy blue or solid white tops and pants, with matching solid navy blue or white jackets; undershirts must be navy or white
