Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position requiring prior travel nursing and Epic EMR experience, floating across multiple ICU settings.

Details

  • Critical Care Float Pool within a hospital setting
  • Covers ICU patients across neuro/trauma SICU, MICU, CPS/VICU, CCU, and progressive critical care unit (PCCU)
  • Also covers ICU/PCC patients in the ED and PACU awaiting bed placement
  • Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Rotating holiday coverage required
  • Floating to a variety of ICUs required
  • 48 hours per week available for interested candidates

Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required, issued by AHA or RQI
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Level I trauma center ICU experience preferred
  • Experience floating across multiple ICU units highly desired
  • Competency test must be completed within 24 hours of consideration
  • No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
  • Minimum one reference from a supervisor or manager (not a charge nurse) dated within the past year
  • Flu vaccination required, with only medical exemptions accepted

Additional Information

  • Care for critically ill patients across multiple ICU specialties and overflow units
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Local candidates from Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington counties are not eligible
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility unless exempted by county list
  • No blocked scheduling permitted
  • More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week assignment may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks
  • RTO must be requested at the time of consideration
  • First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
