Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of critical care experience and prior travel assignments with a WA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Works in a 23-bed ICU caring for Cardiac ICU patients with overflow from MICU, Trauma ICU, and Neuro ICU
  • Primary focus on cardiology patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
  • Every other weekend required with flexibility for unit needs expected
  • Floating to other ICUs and boarder areas should be expected
  • No on-call requirements
  • No block scheduling accommodations
  • Epic charting system required

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years critical care experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and Compliance EKG Exam
  • TNCC certification preferred
  • Level I Trauma facility experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Prior charge nurse experience preferred
  • Two supervisor references required at time of consideration
  • COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions

Additional Information

  • Care for high acuity cardiac ICU patients with skills in arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, blood product administration, and IV therapy
  • Manage ventilated patients, including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ETT/NT suctioning
  • Experience with ECMO, Impella, IABP, and epicardial pacing wire care preferred
  • Manage CVVHD/CRRT, continuous IV sedation, and vasoactive/cardiac drip titration
  • Neurological skills such as EVD, ICP monitoring, and hypothermia protocol preferred
  • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and obtain 12-lead EKGs
  • Facility prefers to avoid placing travel pairs together
  • Scrub color is blue, facility-provided as needed or candidate may wear their own solid color
  • RTO should be minimal and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction
  • Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a travel RN
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
