Description

American Traveler is hiring a Critical Care Float Pool RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring prior travel experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Critical Care Float Pool position within a Level I trauma center
  • Floats across multiple ICU environments including neuro/trauma SICU, MICU, CPS/VICU, CCU, and progressive critical care unit (PCCU)
  • Also cares for ICU/PCC patients in the ED and PACU awaiting bed placement
  • Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Every weekend and rotating holidays required
  • 48-hour work weeks available for interested candidates
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required, issued by AHA or RQI
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Experience floating to a variety of ICU units highly desired
  • Level I trauma center experience preferred
  • Competency test required and must be completed within 24 hours of submission
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • Must provide at least one reference from a supervisor or manager (charge nurse references not accepted) dated within the past year
  • Flu vaccination required, with only medical exemptions accepted

Additional Information

  • Care for critically ill patients across a wide range of ICU specialties as part of a float pool team
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • No blocked scheduling allowed
  • More than 3 call-offs within the 13-week assignment may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks
  • RTO requests must be submitted at time of application
  • Local candidates are not accepted from Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington counties
