American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week assignment requiring active MI licensure and 2+ years of ICU experience with floating capability.

Details

  • Critical Care unit within a 404-bed acute care hospital
  • ICU patient ratios of 1:2 (1:1 for special populations)
  • Step down ratios of 1:4
  • ED ratios mirror ICU/step down when caring for holds
  • Uses Cerner EMR
  • 12-hour day shifts
  • Every other weekend work required (at least 2 shifts from each shift)
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating to ED and Step down required
  • Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

  • Active MI RN license required at time of submission
  • Compact licenses not accepted
  • 2+ years of ICU experience required
  • BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, and SCRN certifications are a plus
  • Travel nursing experience preferred
  • Neuro surgical experience preferred
  • Open heart experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Collaborates with physicians to develop and evaluate patient care plans
  • Delegates to and oversees Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Associates, and other support staff
  • Assumes a leadership role including precepting new employees and students, facilitating patient conferences, and coordinating discharge/transfer planning
  • Facility maintains a strict three-strike attendance policy where absences, tardiness over 20 minutes, or leaving a shift early without approval result in a strike, with termination after three strikes
  • Candidates within a 35 mile radius of the facility are considered local travelers and receive a reduced travel rate
  • No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted during the assignment
