Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ICU position requiring active IL RN licensure, ACLS, PALS, and at least one year of relevant nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in the ICU/Acute Care Unit of a hospital setting
  • Provide multidisciplinary critical care to ICU patients
  • Assist with intubation, central line insertion, and arterial line insertion and care
  • Support early mobility efforts for ventilated patients
  • Delegate and validate patient care tasks completed by HCTs
  • Night shift schedule from 6pm-6:30am, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (40 hours/week)
  • Weekend and holiday shifts required as needed
  • Floating required as needed
  • 13-week contract assignment

Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Strong critical thinking and nursing judgment skills for evaluating patient status and identifying changes in condition

Additional Information

  • Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs
  • Implement and continuously modify nursing interventions and care plans based on patient response
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation to support care coordination across the healthcare team
  • Supervise and delegate work assignments for nursing assistants
  • Utilize hourly rounding, bedside reporting, and patient whiteboards to enhance communication with patients and families
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Report to the Nurse Manager and adhere to established hospital standards and practices
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
