Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring TX or compact RN license and at least 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital, with potential to work in PCU and/or MS/Tele based on facility needs
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 18:30-7:00
• 36 or 48 hours/week considered
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3 in ICU, 5-6:1 when floated to MS/Tele
• Float to MS/Tele required when ICU census is low, which may occur for the majority of scheduled shifts
• Cerner charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC or TCAR certifications required
• Completion of 6 hours total of stroke education required
• EKG course completion required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel RN experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with EVD, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol, and post-neurosurgery/craniotomy care preferred
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multisystem organ dysfunction, and IV insulin protocols required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across ICU, PCU, and/or MS/Tele units depending on facility census needs
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen, including marijuana testing, and a positive result results in automatic cancellation
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius; local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Two supervisor references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration
