Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level I trauma center requiring CA RN licensure and 3 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Work in the Neuro and Surgical Intensive Care Units
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend rotation required with no on-call responsibilities
• Floating required as needed
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level I Trauma Center setting

Requirements

• Active California RN license
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (CCRN and TNCC preferred)
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required, 4 years preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP, and HFNC
• Experience managing patients with CVA/acute stroke, TBI, spinal cord injury, and ICP monitoring preferred
• Experience with cardiac drip titration, dysrhythmia management, and cardiac monitoring
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD preferred
• Experience with ECMO and FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring preferred
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to neuro and surgical ICU patients, including those with multisystem organ dysfunction
• Manage complex cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological conditions
• Maintain infection prevention practices including isolation precautions and PPE use
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
• Returning staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Max RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at the local rate
• First-time travelers may be considered if all qualifications are met
