Registered Nurse - ICU | Travel | Chicago, IL

Assignment Overview

We are seeking a Registered Nurse for the ICU, focusing on the care of Stem Cell Transplant and Car-T patients. Ideal candidates will have the ability to float to Med/Surg units and work effectively as part of a team. Stem Cell experience is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias
  • Perform arterial line management
  • Administer blood products
  • Provide central and PICC line care/management
  • Titrate cardiac drips and manage emergency medication
  • Assist with BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tube insertion/removal
  • Care for ventilated patients and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
  • Interpret ABGs and conduct suctioning (ETT, NT)
  • Implement infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Perform phlebotomy

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2 years of ICU RN experience
  • ACLS & BLS Certifications (AHA only, no HeartCode)
  • Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
  • Arterial Line Management
  • Blood Product Administration
  • Central line care/management
  • PICC line management
  • Emergency Medication
  • Titrate Cardiac Drips
  • Assist with management of BiPAP/CPAP
  • Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal
  • Care of Ventilated Patient
  • HFNC
  • Interpretation of ABGs
  • Suctioning (ETT, NT)
  • Ventilator management
  • Infection prevention
  • Isolation Precautions/Use of PPE
  • Phlebotomy

Preferred:

  • IV Insulin Protocols
  • Accessing Ports
  • Starting IVs
  • CVA/Acute Stroke Management
  • ICP Monitoring
  • Chemotherapy Administration
  • Surgical wounds with drains/wound vac
