Description

American Traveler is hiring a MICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment at a Level III Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of continuous Adult ICU experience and telemetry competency.

Details

  • 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU within a Level III Trauma Center
  • 400+ bed complex community hospital with 220 Med Surg beds plus ICU, Maternity, and other units
  • Cares for a wide range of adult patients with diagnoses including substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
  • Attendings and residents present in the ICU 24 hours a day
  • RN to patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients, 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg areas
  • Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30 with every other weekend required
  • 36 or 48-hour weekly options available
  • Floating required, primarily to Medical/Surgical units with up to 4-5 patients
  • No rotating shifts required
  • Uses EPIC EMR charting system

Requirements

  • Active Massachusetts RN license (NURSYS and BON verification required, no conditional licenses accepted)
  • AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only accepted at this facility)
  • 2+ years of continuous Adult ICU experience required, preferably in a MICU
  • Telemetry competency required, including ability to read telemetry strips
  • Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to a diverse adult ICU patient population
  • Free on-site parking available
  • Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of the facility and will receive a reduced rate
  • Public transportation and paid public parking available for Boston-area locations
  • Time tracked via UKG/Kronos system
