Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced MICU RN for a Level III Trauma Center ICU, requiring 2+ years of continuous MICU experience and telemetry competency.
Details
- 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU within a Level III Trauma Center
- Cares for adult patients with diagnoses including substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
- Attendings and residents present in the ICU 24 hours a day
- Facility includes 220 Med/Surg beds plus ICU and maternity units
- Night shift with every other weekend, 36 or 48 hour options, 19:00-07:30
- Night shift does not rotate; day positions may rotate between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a shifts
- Floating required, primarily to Medical/Surgical units
- RN to patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity, and 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg areas
- Uses EPIC EMR charting system
- Free on-site parking available
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional licenses accepted)
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of continuous Adult ICU experience required, preferably in a MICU
- Telemetry competency required, including ability to read tele strips
- Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to a diverse adult ICU population with varying acuity levels
- Collaborate with attendings and residents present in the unit around the clock
- Local candidates residing within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are accepted at a reduced rate
