Tripod Partners is seeking an experienced Travel ICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in a high-acuity Intensive Care Unit. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced critical care nurse to work in a busy ICU caring for complex patients across a range of specialties.

Shift: Nights, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Schedule: 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Unit: ICU – 3 East / 3 Central
Beds: 32
Patient Ratio: 2:1
Charting: Epic

The ICU operates using a primary care nurse model, with a dedicated resource nurse available to assist with patient care, procedures, and other clinical needs. Nurses will care for high-acuity patients requiring close monitoring, complex interventions, medication titration, and advanced critical care skills.

Patient populations and diagnoses include neuro and neurosurgical patients, renal patients requiring CRRT, cardiac patients including occasional balloon pump patients, respiratory patients requiring ventilator support, and patients receiving multiple continuous drips and vasoactive medications.

The RN must be comfortable reading and interpreting telemetry strips and independently titrating critical care medications according to patient condition and clinical protocols. Common medications include Neo-Synephrine, Levophed, Cardene, Cardizem, 3% saline, and other vasoactive pressors.

Common equipment includes ZOLL devices, Nihon Kohden bedside monitors, and PrisMax CRRT machines.

Requirements:
Active RN license eligible for assignment
Minimum 2 years of recent acute ICU RN experience
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Current NIH certification
Recent Epic experience
Strong telemetry interpretation skills
Experience with medication titration and high-acuity critical care patients
CRRT experience preferred
