Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring cardiovascular, open heart, and balloon pump experience along with an active CA RN license.
Details
- ICU setting caring for adult and geriatric patients
- Unit averages a census of 24 across 28 rooms/beds
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
- Every other weekend coverage required
- No call requirement
- Self-scheduling available
- Royal blue scrubs required
Requirements
- Active California RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Cardiovascular, open heart, and balloon pump experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- VIP, MAB, or CPI certification from an in-person course required
- Community hospital experience required
- Allscripts charting system experience preferred
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Skilled in arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
- Skilled in blood product administration and starting IVs
- Skilled in care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, and suctioning
- Skilled in IV insulin protocols
- Must pass onsite Advanced EKG exam (80% minimum, two attempts allowed)
- Must complete required clinical modules prior to start
Additional Information
- Provide direct bedside care to critically ill adult and geriatric ICU patients
- Manage complex cardiovascular cases including post cardiac surgery, IABP, and cardiac cath patients
- Facility is a smoke and nicotine-free environment; candidates must arrive free of tobacco odor
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
- Return staff reviewed on a case-by-case basis
- RTO must be submitted with initial application and cannot be requested during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Once RTO is submitted, dates cannot be changed except to cancel requested time off
