Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring an active OK or compact RN license and at least one year of ICU experience in a trauma setting.

• Cares for a variety of patients with health conditions ranging from simple to complex
• Night shift schedule
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and delivers competent nursing care
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Obtains and monitors physiological data, observing and intervening as needed
• Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Informs patients and families of hospital procedures and makes appropriate care referrals
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Travelers may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks unless otherwise agreed upon, requiring a 6-month separation before reapplying
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
