Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring a CT or compact RN license and at least 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting in a Level I Trauma Center, short-term acute care hospital
• 10-week winter coverage contract with a set start and end date
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float to step-down unit as needed, with potential to float to sister Neuro ICU unit
• Uses Epic charting system
• Guaranteed hours for this assignment

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date (pending license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills required: IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, ventilator management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, continuous IV sedation, vasoactive drip titration, and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with airway management and care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
• 1 reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to surgical ICU patients, including management of multisystem organ dysfunction and complex IV therapies
• No holiday RTO permitted during this assignment
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed
• Local radius restrictions are waived for this 10-week assignment
• Must be gone from facility for 2 years before returning as a traveler if previously employed on staff
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
