Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position requiring Epic experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• 13-week travel assignment in a Critical Care Float Pool at a Level I trauma center
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Floats across multiple ICU environments including neuro/trauma SICU, MICU, CPS/VICU, CCU, and progressive critical care unit (PCCU)
• May also care for ICU/PCC patients in the ED and PACU awaiting bed placement
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• 48 hours per week may be available for candidates interested in additional hours

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in critical care/ICU nursing required
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or RQI required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience floating across a variety of ICU settings highly desired
• Level I trauma center experience preferred
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number required; Canadian SIN not accepted
• Medical exemption signed by a licensed professional required for flu vaccine exemption; personal or religious declinations not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across a range of ICU units and specialties as part of a float pool team
• Must be comfortable and competent caring for complex ICU patients across varied units
• Competency test required within 24 hours of consideration submission, with up to 2 attempts to pass
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Local candidates residing within Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties are not eligible for this position
• More than 3 call-outs within the 13-week assignment period may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks of the last call-out
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration
