Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN - ICU with 2+ years of ICU experience and open heart experience required for a 13-week assignment.

Details

  • Critical Care unit within a 404-bed acute care hospital
  • ICU patient ratios of 1:2 (1:1 for special populations)
  • Floating required to Step Down (1:4 ratio) and Emergency Department units
  • Uses Cerner EMR
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend work required
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active MI RN license required at time of submission
  • Compact license not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Open heart experience required
  • Must be comfortable floating to ED and Step Down units
  • Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, and SCRN certifications are a plus
  • Copies of all certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Provide direct bedside nursing care and carry out medical orders
  • Delegate to and oversee Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Associates, and other ancillary staff
  • Evaluate effectiveness of patient care plans and adjust as needed
  • Serve in a leadership role including precepting and mentoring new staff and students
  • Facilitate patient care conferences and coordinate discharge/transfer planning
  • Navy blue scrub color required
  • No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested during the assignment
  • Local candidates within a 35-mile radius are considered local travelers with adjusted pay rates
  • Travel experience and neuro surgical experience are preferred but not required
  • Strict attendance policy in effect, including a three-strike system for absences or tardiness
