ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for a 12-week assignment in Evanston, IL. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a critical care setting, specifically in neuro and stroke care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for patients in the intensive care unit.
• Monitor patient vitals and progress, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using EPIC charting.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans and progress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float to other inpatient units and locations as required.

Schedule Details

The Registered Nurse will be scheduled for 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including weekend coverage every other week and holiday shifts as needed. Orientation will include 6-8 hours of classroom training and a 12-hour unit orientation.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois RN License.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a critical care setting, with a strong emphasis on neuro and stroke care.
• Experience with EPIC charting is mandatory.
• New graduates are not eligible for this position.

Floating Requirement

The candidate must be willing to float to other inpatient units and various locations within the region, including Skokie, Highland Park, and Glenbrook.
