Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac ICU position requiring Level 1 trauma experience and expertise in mechanical circulatory support and advanced heart failure management.

Details

  • Work in the Cardiac ICU (CCU) unit of a hospital setting
  • 16-bed unit with a census of 16 patients
  • Supports patients on mechanical circulatory support including Impella, durable VAD, ECMO, and IABP
  • Patient population includes multisystem failure with specialty focus on advanced heart failure and fresh post-op cardiac surgical patients
  • Clinician to patient ratio of 1:2
  • 36 hours per week, day/night rotating shifts
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required; no pending or conditional licenses accepted
  • BLS certification (AHA only)
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required
  • 2+ years of Level 1 trauma experience required
  • Experience with mechanical circulatory support (MCS) highly preferred
  • Expertise in advanced heart failure management required
  • 1+ years of travel nursing experience required
  • Primary source license verification required within 30 days of start, updated upon expiration (NURSYS and BON)
  • Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to cardiac ICU patients on advanced circulatory support and post-surgical recovery
  • Local candidates accepted with permanent residence within 60 miles of Boston, at a reduced rate
  • RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration
  • Two references required for consideration
