7a - 7p, with floating as needed to various units including Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, PACU, and others. Must be available for every other weekend and one winter and one summer holiday.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit will provide high-quality patient care across the lifespan, from pediatric to geriatric populations. The role involves comprehensive patient assessments, effective clinical skills, accurate documentation, and a commitment to professionalism and patient satisfaction. The nurse will work in a collaborative environment, ensuring safety by following established protocols and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough and accurate patient assessments based on growth and development stages.
• Deliver competent clinical care and support patient care delivery by working effectively with the healthcare team.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate professionalism and enhance personal clinical and professional growth by identifying learning opportunities.
• Engage in effective communication with patients, families, and coworkers, prioritizing patient satisfaction and confidentiality.
• Implement National Patient Safety Goals and utilize safe transfer techniques.
• Individualize patient care based on conditions, procedures, and type of anesthesia.
• Contribute to the perioperative team by directing patient care and responding to changes in patient conditions.
• Assess and educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures and pre/postoperative care.
• Support timely completion of patient testing and evaluate PAT orders for completeness and appropriateness.

Required Experience

• 1 year of ICU experience is required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active RN License is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification is required.
