Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring an active NY license, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications, and Epic EMR experience.
Details
- Work in the Medical and Surgical Intensive Care Unit, including burn and thermoregulation cases
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required in hand
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience highly preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, and emergency medications
- Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
- Experience with IV insulin protocols and infection prevention/isolation precautions
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to medical and surgical ICU patients, including burn and thermoregulation cases
- Must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility
- First-time travelers may be considered
- Returning staff must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying
- Candidates with more than 10 days of requested time off will not be considered
