Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of continuous MICU experience and telemetry strip reading competency.

Details

  • Work in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU) within a Level III Trauma Center at a 400+ bed community hospital
  • Care for a wide range of adult patients with diagnoses including Substance Abuse/Overdose, severe Psychiatric conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, and Cardiogenic Shock
  • Attendings and Residents are present in the ICU 24 hours/day
  • RN to patient ratio is 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients, and 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg units
  • Night shift schedule (19:00-07:30), 36 hours per week, with every other weekend required
  • Night shift does not rotate
  • Floating required, primarily to Medical/Surgical units, with patient loads of up to 4-5 patients when floated
  • Uses EPIC EMR charting system
  • Free on-site parking available

Requirements

  • Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional licenses accepted)
  • AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required (Salem accepts AHA only)
  • 2+ years of continuous Adult ICU experience required, preferably in a MICU
  • Must be able to read telemetry strips
  • Telemetry competency required
  • Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing services to a diverse adult ICU patient population
  • Work collaboratively with attendings and residents who are present in the unit around the clock
  • Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of the facility to qualify for the local rate
