Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ICU/SICU position requiring Level I Trauma Center experience and a current CT or compact RN license.

Details

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting within a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Floating to step-down unit required as needed
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with airway management, IV drip titration, and care of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure patients
• Skills in arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, and dysrhythmia management
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU and step-down patients, including those with multisystem organ dysfunction
• Travelers must be willing to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious/medical exemptions only
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Returning staff must have been separated from permanent employment for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
