Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring a PA or compact RN license and ICU patient care expertise.

Details

  • ICU setting within a hospital
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Float to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
  • Floating within the hospital may be required

Requirements

  • Active PA or Compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA only)
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Teaching and community hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration
  • Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and titrating vasoactive/cardiac drips
  • Experience in CVICU, MICU, or SICU settings preferred
  • Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and renal failure management preferred
  • Experience with post cardiac surgery, IABP, ECMO, or VAD care preferred
  • Two supervisor references required
  • SSN, DOB, and RTO required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure
  • Perform cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia management, and emergency response as needed
  • Administer and titrate continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and vasoactive medications
  • Support patients requiring post-cardiac surgery or advanced cardiovascular interventions
  • Must be available to work every other holiday
  • Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
  • Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible for travel rate
  • Fingerprinting, drug screening, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
  • All compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
