Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a critical care unit requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and comfort floating to ED and Step Down.
Details
- Critical Care unit within an acute care hospital
- ICU patient ratios of 1:2, or 1:1 for special populations
- Step Down ratio of 1:4
- ED assignments follow ICU/Step Down ratios when caring for holds
- Uses Cerner EMR
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Floating to ED and Step Down required
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required at time of submission
- Compact licenses not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, NIHSS
- Nice to have certifications: TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, SCRN
- Copies of all certifications required for consideration
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Neuro surgical experience preferred
- Open heart experience preferred
Additional Information
- Collaborate with physicians to develop and carry out patient care plans
- Provide bedside nursing care and implement medical orders
- Delegate to and oversee support staff including Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Associates, and Nursing Clerks
- Evaluate effectiveness of patient care plans
- Serve in a leadership role including delegation, coordination, and precepting new staff
- Participate in discharge and transfer planning conferences
- Navy blue scrub color required
- Local candidates within a 35 mile radius are considered local travelers with adjusted pay rate
- No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested
