We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a leading acute-care hospital in Bay City, MI. This is a contract position with guaranteed hours, allowing you to make a meaningful impact on patient care while enjoying the flexibility of night shifts.

As an RN in the ICU, you will collaborate with physicians to develop and implement a plan of care aimed at returning patients to optimal health. Your responsibilities will include providing bedside nursing care, carrying out medical orders, and overseeing the functions of Nurse Assistants and other support staff. You will also evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and ensure that patient needs are met throughout their treatment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Assumes responsibility for a leadership role encompassing:
   • Integrating evidence-based knowledge into practice.
   • Delegation and coordination of tasks and assignments of nursing care.
   • Facilitates/participates in patient conferences.
   • Identifies and provides the means to meet patients' ongoing and discharge/transfer teaching needs by communicating with the appropriate resource persons and attending discharge/transfer planning conferences.
   • Assumes responsibility for professional growth by seeking out educational opportunities and utilizing programs in the hospital or community.
   • Teaches and/or guides professional and ancillary personnel.
   • Precepts/mentors new employees and students.
   • Functions as a team leader to ensure proper patient placement and delegation of assignments.
2. Communicates relevant information in a manner that is understandable and effective.
3. Demonstrates organizational skills through effective planning.
