Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Cardiac ICU – Tuscaloosa, AL

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend and holidays as required. 36 or 48 hours per week available. Assignment duration is 13 weeks with guaranteed 36 hours per week.

Highlights:

  • Work in an 8-bed high-acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit specializing in complex cardiac monitoring and treatment
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes for adult cardiac patients
  • Receive patients from Cath Lab, Emergency Department, and Acute Care areas requiring specialized cardiac intervention
  • Biweekly orientation with 16 hours of non-billable onboarding
  • Competitive compensation with overtime available after 48 hours per week
  • Local candidates welcome with no rate differential

Requirements:

  • Active Alabama or Compact state RN license (temporary licenses not accepted)
  • ASN degree required
  • AHA or ARC BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; PALS required if working in pediatric units
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience (18 months may be considered with 1 year specialty experience)
  • Must pass Dysrhythmia Basic exam during onboarding (2 attempts permitted)
  • Willingness to float to other units and facilities as needed
  • Experience with Meditech charting system preferred
