Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a night-shift acute care position requiring central line and arterial line experience along with an active IL license.

Details

• Work in an 8-bed ICU within an acute care hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 1:2, potentially up to 1:3 depending on acuity and overflow
• Treats sepsis, ARDS, ARF, cardiac dysrhythmias, complex post-operative, overdose, and behavioral health medical patients
• EPIC EMR used for charting
• 12-hour night shift schedule
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No call or standby requirement
• Floating required to Medical Surgical units in Peru and Ottawa
• No telemetry or monitor techs on this unit
• RNs required to titrate drips including cardizem, propofol, amiodarone, norepinephrine, and precedex

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
• BSN not required for this position
• Central line care, arterial line management, and bedside bronchoscopy experience required
• Cardiac arrest management per AHA guidelines required
• Negative drug screen required for all panels

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex ICU patients including drip titration and ventilator management
• Support from Hospitalists 24/7, Nocturnist, and Critical Care physicians (7am-7pm)
• Respiratory Therapy in-house 24/7 with vent, BiPAP, CPAP, and heated hi-flow equipment
• Charge Nurse and Administrative Supervisor support available
• Unit-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
• Must wear solid color scrubs or OSF attire per dress code policy
• Local candidates accepted with a reduced rate applied to permanent addresses within 50 miles of the facility
• COVID vaccination not required for this position
