Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

  • Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
  • Target patient ratio of 1:2
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday required
  • No call requirement
  • No floating requirement
  • Unit orientation consists of two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required
  • ACLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Meditech charting experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC line care, and arterial line management
  • Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and ABG interpretation preferred
  • Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
  • Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocols

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients including those requiring respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, and neurological support
  • Scrubs of any color are permitted
  • Minimal RTO requested, especially during the first two weeks of the assignment
  • Expect to work some holidays during the assignment
  • Local candidates accepted at the same travel rate
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
