PEL/VIP is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in East Chicago, Indiana.

Registered Nurse - ICU | Travel |

Assignment Overview

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the ICU unit. The ideal candidate should have strong ICU experience, preferably three years, and familiarity with the EPIC charting system. This role involves providing intensive care to various patient age groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Assignment Details

  • Shift: 3x12 Nights
  • Floating required to IMCU
  • Estimated gross weekly pay package: $2214 (negotiable)
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Required - Medical Exemptions Only
  • Flu Vaccine: Required - Medical Exemptions Only
  • Number of Weekend Shifts Per Contract: 8

Responsibilities

  • Manage and care for patients with diverse diagnoses such as DKA, MI, Sepsis, and Respiratory Failure
  • Administer continuous IV sedation and titrate cardiac drips
  • Interpret arterial blood gases and manage ventilation systems
  • Provide care of ventilated patients and assist with central line management
  • Perform blood product administration and manage infections
  • Assist with various procedures, including PICC line and chest tube insertions

Qualifications

Required:

  • ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS certifications
  • Indiana or Compact RN license
  • Minimum of 3 years ICU experience
  • EPIC and Omnicell experience
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation, cardiac and vasoactive drips management

Preferred:

  • Experience with CVIMCU or recent cardiac experience
  • Neuro IMCU experience within the last 3 years
