Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring MO or compact RN licensure and 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes medical, surgical, and neuro ICU cases such as post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery management
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills required: cardiac monitoring and emergency response, IV therapy, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and care of ventilated patients
• Additional skills: arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, continuous IV sedation, and IV insulin protocols
• Must be clean-shaven to achieve proper mask seal for respirator fit testing
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to patients with complex cardiac, respiratory, and neurological conditions
• Manage dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Navy scrubs required
• Must complete OSHA Respirator Clearance prior to start
• Facility does not provide or permit personal use of CAPRs or PAPRs, with no medical or religious exemptions
• Must work 4 of 8 designated holiday dates: Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, 12/26, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not eligible for this position
• Clinicians may not work more than 1 consecutive year as a traveler and must take a 6-month break before returning
